"From transmitters of the Oodletuz Broadcasting Conglomerate ... This Is FML Audio."
Check out a tiny sample the musical effluvia of FML here. All recorded using Helix Producer 9. Nominally in stereo, though to be honest I can't make out much of a stereo difference in the encoded files. Perhaps it's the "16k substream for 28k dial-up" that I keep removing in my quest for small file size. Anyhugh...
A nice little exclusive preview for you. This is politely called "Get Your Head Out", and it will appear on the 25th album (the fifth The Blimp album), "However However However", if there's room for it there. Don't be fooled by the nice friendly intro. This is prone to mood-swings. It started out as my attempt to be Franz Ferdinand, but it ends up more like Gavrilo Princip if you ask me. In fact it may be re-titled "Gavrilo Sings".
From the 6-track EP "Past Futures", an oddity called "Space Noise". Spiteful, spiky, skriky, scratchy space noise! And don't even ask me about "Ako-Med Productions".
From the latest The Blimp album, "A Warning From History", here is "Mystic Sulkstress" ["O Mystic Sulkstress of the East ... your mystery is exceeded only by your sulkiness"] leading into "Further Action". The Blimp do this live. Sometimes twice in a row.
Jaunty piss-take of lo-point tagging artists, from the "Für Ihre Sicherheit" album. This is called "Paint Town Tom". Another one you can hear live when the live The Blimp appear.
From "Six Hours..." - this one goes by the rather unwieldy name of "Cry Hope For New Granada". The squirly effect on the guitars is entirely down to the encoding process by the way, just like on the other selections presented here, though listening back to it, it sounds deliberate. It isn't.
NB: The sound quality of these files is somewhat compromised in order to keep the file size down.
CONCERNED PARENTS' WARNING TYPE THING: While the content of the FML Audio service is by no means verbally nasty, we cannot guarantee that the odd swear word will not creep in.
CONCERNED KIDS' WARNING TYPE THING ALONG SIMILAR LINES: While the odd swear word will probably creep into the FML Audio Service, we cannot guarantee that any such swear words will be anything you haven't heard before.
