Two off-air shots of the test card of ABHN-5 Newcastle.

ABN-2 - Similar to the one on which I based my Channel 2 test card in the TCD Resource

An early PM5544 from Sydney. Predates March 1975.

A test card and ident from NBN-3, Newcastle.

Test card of WIN-4. The idea of having a picture in the centre circle appears to be quite popular.

An ident from ABC-2.

The featured test card here was the first colour signal installed by ABN in Sydney. Note the slightly mis-aligned lower caption. Richard Carden writes: "[The generator] had a memory core unit which required programming for station ident. Tim Kelly and I managed to workout the required coding, however from memory we had no guide lines as what to put on the test-card. We decided to settle for A.B.C. on the top row and NATIONAL TV on the bottom row. The bottom window however was not large enough to fit this many characters in, therefore a little modification was carried out to the gate circuit to increase the lower window size to allow for these extra characters. And as they say the rest was history, you may have noticed that a small white bar was found on the top left position of the bottom text. This was removed later in the conversion program by starting the bottom row programming a little later."
